A Summer Haiku

I think all of us are familiar with the ancient Japanese form of poetry called haiku-based on 17 syllables in lines of 5-7-5. If not, you just learned something new. Here's my attempt to recap our baseball-filled five day stay in Glendive, which saw b-monies team win the state title. Next week we travel to Boise for regionals. Hope all is well, t-money, out.

the boys of summer
baseball is for kids at heart
happy state champions

nine and ten-year-olds
giving their all for glory
beneath scorching sun

the crack of the bat
the hard smacking of leather
running around the bases

loud parents screaming
innocence oblivious
playing just for fun

bozeman bombers win
kids jump and gloves fly skyward
state champs, mom and pie

That was an awesome haiku. Althought I know nothing about haiku's your's was the bestest.lol I just got back from one of our local watering holes called "The Crest". I guess it's our version of the "Molly" with no smoking. Me and my 2 cousins were hanging out. Super fun. Anyway, way to go B-money....state champs...woohoo.

Wow T I didn't realize that not only can you write for the letterman show you are also the next Robert Frost. I agree with my girlfriend that was the best Haiku. We need a conf. call soon. Miss you both it will be weird to go back and not have all three of us together. Great job Brady some athletes never win a state championship so congratulations.
